I think each kitty needs a different colored frame around it. Then from there you can add your sashings and maybe keystone blocks? Or just some pieced mixed blocks as the sashings?

Since you do these blocks to sell as kits, the idea of coordinated sashing strips might be pretty good. You could cut several sets of colors and then display possibilities with the blocks. As customers click on a block set one of those "you might also like" pictures could come up.

Thanks y'all! I considered putting them on black blocks. Do you guys do much with black?

Cat hair on solid black.. imagine how much that would show up. How about a tea colored fabric or med. ivory since you are making a more primative style? Or if your set is six, five cats one mouse (or offer that as an option?) six cats or five and one mouse and make the mouse look worried. No smiles. They look like kitty ornies. . Put a crown on the mouse :) or bird. That would be cute. button eyes? ah heck they are fine the way they are. Messing with a good thing and all that.

I agree with the idea of using coordinating sashing strips.
