These are quilts that I have done over the last five years. As a student/teacher, I haven't really had much time to work on my quilts.

sharonb I honestly have no idea what the name of the square pattern is. My roomie's mother told me how to do it, so I did. I just added outward to make it bigger. To do the inner square, just sew strips to get a square, whatever size you want... place two squares face to face, one horizontal, one vertical, stitch around the edges, and then cut diagonally and you get the angled stripes you see in the photo.

Awesome quilts!! The first is my favorite too. I want to try that! When you said stitch around the edges, did you really mean just stich two sides?

Wonderful quilts. Don't apologize for not doing more in 5 years...some of us are not fortunate to be able to do our hobby all day long - any day we chose.

Keep going - whenever you get time!

clem I stitch all four sides. Then, cut the unit in half on the diagonal. Without moving it, cut it on the other diagonal, leaving you with four folded triangles. When you open them, you should have four squares with the intersecting angles.
