This one of my sections to my quilt it is all in purples. This panel is not completed yet.

I looked up a pattern and it said you needed 25 yds of background fabric. Can that be correct? I knew you needed a lot but Oh my!

The 25 yds. is probably correct. Just keep in mind that you don't need backing fabric or batting unless you want to put in under your colored squares. This quilt is pretty thick without any batting.

Oh I know! but I know I've never bought that much of one fabric before. It kinda explains why so many people use muslin.

The one my Mom made years ago was lavender, your quilt reminds me of it. It's looking very nice

muslin is what I used I buy it by the bolt of 25 yards and have used almost all of the bolt I bought to make this quilt of cathedral windows.
