Our small (11 members) neighborhood quilt group - we are call The Sassy Silver Quilters is having our first 'small' quilt show on Thurs. We have only been in existance for 3 years and really have done a variety of work. I will make different posts for some of the things that I have made in the last 3 years.
This first post is for 3 items made over last summer with our "challenge" fabric. The two table runners were fun and easy to do. I combined hand and machine quilting and did some hand applique. The quilt I call my "bread & wine quilt" as some of the fabric is golden grapes on the vine and the pictoral scene had bread and wine in it. The pictoral scene reminded me so much of France. I hand quilted it starting with 5 circles in the center and then rays coming out (too many with a total of 22 per quadrant) cause you need lots of sunshine to grow those grapes. The challenge fabric in this one is just 4 small pieces. See if you can find them.
I hung them on the closeline to photograph and we are having a terribly windy day so things are not hanging as straight as I would like.

I found the 4 small peices. Almost missed them. Pretty clever. And very pretty quilts.
