Now, we want to start sewing the pouches to each other. This is where it gets hairy.

lay one pouch seams down. put another pouch on top, seams up.

now, take another pouch and sew it to the next corner of the center pouch. (i told you this would get confusing. sorry)

lay the third pouch under the center, again, seams down, and sew that seam.

we'll fold the point in, now, on the pouches we sewed to the center. the folds show us where the seams will go when we start attaching more pouches to build our project

As we add the fifth pouch and beyond, you might find it easier to control the increasing bulk and weight by using pins.

I also recommend you sew across intersections to strengthen the connections.

by the time i had three rows of three sewn together, it suddenly occured to me that i might be able to pin and add more than one pouch at a time.

l laid the sewn rows face down, then pinned the next three pouches face up. i laid the ruler across, then drew a long stitching line.

i followed that by sewing four across to end with four rows of four.
