Default Chef's Quilt

I completed the Chef's quilt just in time for dd to take it to Texas. It is for her friend she went to pastry school with who got married last week. She is a pastry chef and her new husband is a chef also. I didn't use a pattern, just kept buying fabric that was food related and used them as borders. Then I took the completed quilt to our local appliance store and asked if I could photograph it on their high end ranges. It was difficult to photograph because of the layout of the store. I did the best I could. This is a Loralie panel that I started with. I was also able to get 2 placemats out of the panel. I hope the newlyweds like it.

Very nice!Love your idea to just make different size borders! Give me some ideas as to what to do with a patriotic panel and patriotic fabric I bought to make a quilt for my veteran bro-in-law who is very sick!
