    I love this tube stripping!

This quilt has batiks, a gorgeous jewelled blue and white-on-white print.

The main design was a square, so added top and bottom rows to rectangle it (yes, that's a verb now!). Hope to have it quilted very very soon!

This is headed for a special cousin who has been hosting my daughter while she's working at a college placement for a month.

The longer I looked at it, the more the illusion came out to me. Beautiful quilt. Still haven't tried the tube method yet.

Thanks all! This was great fun to put together.

I used the 'tube strip' method - two 2 1/2 strips sewn together (the colours), white strip sewn to make the 'tube'.

Cut triangles from tubes. Arrange on design wall ...

Tonight I finished putting the binding on - found some fusible thread and tried out Klue's method for using this for applying the binding.

I again used decorative embroidery stitches along the seamlines to 'quilt' the layers together. Used variegated cotton thread - more than 1 km of thread for the decorative stitches!

Label, final photos, wash and it's ready to go to its new home :)

Gorgeous! I'm sure it will bring lots of comfort and warmth to the recipient. (Of course RECTANGLE can be verb.... I had to CIRCLE the parking lot for a space today and we all have to SQUARE up our blocks before we sew them together.)
