    No not candy.....man's best friend.

My dog passed away unexpectedly this summer and within a week my friends dog also passed away. They were both 9 years old and left us way too early.

My friend got married a couple of weeks later and I wanted to make him a special wedding gift. So I found the Lab pattern on Quilters Cache and knew it would be perfect for John & Shelly to remember their dog Jake. I chose to frame it rather than quilt it. I will give it to him tomorrow.

Such a thoughtful friend. Know they will be really touched!

You did a great job and adding the tag was just the special touch.

What a great idea - and a lovely job! Your detail is wonderful - I noticed the fingernails! :)

How beautiful and what a great idea. They will treasure it forever. My DH and I had a chocolate lab for 12 years - she passed in 2001 and we still miss her dearly. Labs are the best. There was a wallhanging of a chocolate lab head in a quilt magazine a couple of years ago. I made it as a tribute to her.
