This is a picture of one of the Placemats I am making for Christmas gifts. My question is with the Redwork embroidery and the Red Toile is it to busy?

It's beautiful! Have you tried putting the solid red next to the redwork? I think the redwork would really pop then. Then use the pretty read print for a border? Then binding it in red? Just my two cents worth! It really is pretty.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Could you take a picture with the two half triangles turned so the red is near the redwork.

Another question, did you do this redwork on your sewing machine? If not, where does one get redwork patterns to hand stitch?

These are so nice. I too think I would like the triangles switched. With red binding I think it would really bring attention to your beautiful redwork!Oh I see you did it love them this way!

here r the last 3 options (because I think all toile would be to much), I'm not usually this indecisive but since they are for gifts I want to get it right lol

I like this one the best, (red near the redwork, using the triangles) shows off the redwork the best, IMHO. The handwork is beautiful!! I think it needs the triangles.
