Machine embroidery can be a very big expensive hole. The embroidery machine is only the beginning. Trust me, I have been in this hole for a very long time and it precludes any other expensive hobbies. Sewing has always been a love of mine since a child and embroidery machines open up a whole new world. I don't have any other vices so I guess this is mine. The price of the machine is the first $$$'s you spend, then there are threads, stabilizers, designs etc and there are always machine upgrades and the price to have these machines serviced is more than an ordinary machine. Right down to printer ink and paper to print colour charts and templates, it is never ending and so many temptations with the designs. But owning an embroidery machine has its rewards in the beautiful items you can create.

They are both very pretty. I especially like the crazy quilt. I do a lot of hand embroidery.

Betty, do you have a link to the embroidery design for the patchwork placemat? I’d love to make that. Thanks in advance. Both items are gorgeous.

Your pieces are lovely! You do such nice work. I would love to know the size of your placemat. I am just embarking on this project of making placemats for Thanksgiving with my family.

Sure, I would be happy to share the link with you. I have just Google searched as I am assuming you are in the US. I am in Australia and I purchased it from an Anita Goodesign dealer here. The link will give you a dealer but you may prefer to do your own search fro a dealer closer to you. The Design name and number is: Christmas Crazy quilt blocks Proj19

The finished size of my placemat is: 17 3/4 inches X 12 1/4 inches. Most placemat sizes are approx. 18 x 12 inches.
