Christmas quilt found at Goodwill store
#43
This situation makes me reconsider whom I give my quilts to. There are alot of people out there that don't realize the time and heart that goes into each quilt - no matter how "perfect" the quilt is done. I remember reading on this board how some of the quilters gave their nearest and dearest gifts, and the receiver didn't seem that excited about it. There is still a stigma that it is only little old ladies who quilt - and that it is no big deal to do it. Sad. This year I wanted to make a lap quilt for every one of my closest friends throughout life - the one I am working on to be given to a friend who doesn't know "squat" about my "hobby". I would hate to think she might toss it to the GoodWill bag instead of cuddling up in it while watching television on a cold winter night (which I am visualizing). Maybe I'll go ahead and give it to her and my other friends - and hopefully "ignorance is bliss" for me in never knowing if the Good Will ends up with it!
