Has anyone followed this blog from Barbara Brackman: spothttp://civilwarquilts.blogspot.com/
I followed it half way through to make this smaller version. If you scroll through you will see she gives a new pattern each week along with interesting stories about civil war times. There are also photos from participants of their blocks and suggestions from Barbra about yardage and measurements for the finished quilt. Here is a photo of my version

Thank you so much for sharing. The first quilt of the new year I want to work on is a Civil War quilt and I like this pattern better than the other ones I have seen.

Yours is great! My mom and I just started. I wanted to change to 12" blocks (the original has 8" blocks) to have a bedsized quilt faster, skipping the trickier blocks, but Mom wants to do 'em all, 8". Seniority rules, of course!

I love it. I want to do a civil war quilt as soon as I'm done making the other bed quilts for my kids.
