Ok, I have started the quilt. Oh boy!!! Anyway I did the first block and have the work up on my blog if anyone cares to see the entire block put together. I will post the other blocks as I finished them but not the work ups as it all the same as the A block. This is block A minus the #11 stip which I will do now and then on to block B.

If you check the blog, I have the block place on the map on the wrong side of the block. In paper piecing the blocks come out opposite.

Holy crap! And I do mean that in a good way! This quilt is going to be a stunner. But oh seeing that map of a pattern makes my head swim.

My hat's off to you for this ambitious piece of work! I don't have the patience but your start is beautiful! It's gonna finish up very nicely!

Hahahaha, I agree with you totally. That is what I thought when I laid that map out lol.....but I love a challenge and it is not as bad as it looks. If you do one block at a time and do exactly as written, you can do it....

It is an awesome quilt, very colourful and very intricate. I also would like to know the name of it, not that I would ever have the nerve to try it. Thanks for sharing.

I bought the pattern in Paducha at Hancock's. I am sure you can get it on line there too....it was 48 or 50 dollars. It's called the colorful quilt by Jacqeline De Jone. I have already made a mistake on the block lol. I can see now that the last blue strip is supposed to be the border fabric. I am ripping it now hahahahah...

    That will be stunning-

    but what a challenge!

Did it come as a kit - or did you have to choose your own fabrics?

OMG! This is wonderful! Good luck with getting it all together. I do like to do some paper piecing now and again (see my avatar) but this is insane! I wish I had the nerve to take on a project like this.

Wow..that's amazing. It will look stunning.
So, this is what you all mean when I see 'paper pieced' mentioned? Being new to quilting I didn't know for sure what it meant

Oh my goodness....I have never tried paper piecing and this just convinces me to stay away, far away and just be in awe of those who do. That is going to be one gorgeous quilt. Thanks for posting--it's interesting to see the lay out.
