    Default my flamed star

    I am trying to put this star together but it won't lay flat and keeps bubbling up... i've tried putting it together in so many ways and keep getting the same results. has anyone made a star like this and could help me out ??? you can see it is all cut out and ready to go ... please help me :0) thanks for any info . p.s. i also looked on you tube but they make theirs very different . i used a template to cut all mine . tha:0)nk from Lisa " littlharley"

    That is gorgeous with the flame material in there. I have good luck with flat diamonds if I starch heavily and I do mean heavily.

    so I starch it sew it then Iron it???

    What is the angle of your diamond? Is it a 45 or 60? Love your flames!

    tis one was a 45
    but i do have the 60 too ....

    Sounds like there is a seam allowance difference somewhere. Is that possible? Put it together in small sections and double check often.

    Spritz with water and then iron. I got this tip from a longarm quilter. She said she has to do this to a lot of quilts that come in for quilting.

    This would be after you have sewn it together. Also if you starch the individual pieces, remember to lift your iron up and down so you don't make the diamonds wonky. Good Luck. It is eye catching with the flame fabric
