This was my first attempt at a Convergence Quilt. It's a king size quilt and I quilted it on my Janome 6600. I used the Sharon Schambers method of basting my quilt as I have trouble sitting on the floor. The top and bottom of the quilt were wrapped on long (and I mean long) boards. The batting was sandwiched in between and I used a herringbone basting stitch to baste the darn thing. It worked out wonderful and I'm thrilled with how it came out. I also made pillowcases to match rather than shams.

Good looking quilt, very contemporary. Can you explain more on how to baste?

Well!! This is neat! I have been sitting here imagining how this pattern was done. I am thinking sew and cut, sew and cut on and on right?

Thanks for the tip on basting too. That is cool!

Carol, I googled Sharon Schambers and I watched a you tube video on how it's done. Very interesting...I may have to try this...I hate getting on my knees and pin basting a quilt.

Gettin' on my knees is the easy part, it's the getting back up I don't like,

Absolutely beautiful!! The board idea is great. I have never heard of that before. I have a problem crouching down on the floor too, ever since I smashed my kneecap last year.
I'm going to try this. Do you just get a nice clean, splinter free, board at Home Depot? Or not? 8-)
