Default cosmic rainbows

This is the quilt I made for Nat'l night out this year. I have made a quilt every year for past 6 years to give away in a drawing. It is made from a pattern in Quilters World magazine for February 2003 called "Stars and Stripes". The original pattern calls for only 3 rows of stars in a 2-3-2 arrangement. i increased to 5 rows in a 5-4-5-4-5 arrangement to bring to a queen size. I made the first block three times--the first time I sewed it wrong. Second time I did it right but didn't like how all the bright colors were on one side of the star. I rearranged the order of the colors til I thought it was better balanced and pleasing to the eye. our block/neighborhood is celebrating next Tuesday so winner is unknown at this time.

I love that quilt and would love to win it! I really like how the border & vertical sashing ties in with the stars. Someone's going to be sooo happy on Tuesday.
