your quilts are so beautiful I just had to google it and got thimble blossoms and looking at the pattern on the website to me is so so and not really want to buy it.....but looking at yours makes me want to make one so now I'm on the fence thinking about ordering it...hmmmm!thanks for posting

WOW! WOW! these are beautiful I'v made one like your first pattern, but the Holiday frost is so stunning < that one will go on my to do list.. thanks for sharing.

That could be a good thing or a bad thing! There is a great tutorial with a little different method at http://doublenickelquilts.blogspot.c...ilt-block.html which ends up with 16" blocks.

I have a confession to make about this swoon quilt. It was way way out of my color comfort zone. I tend to do loud, bright, lots of movement or really monotone quilts. I had lots of reservations making this. I do like blue and yellow together but this particular fabric collection was/is out of my comfort zone. I do like some of the more intense blocks. I know a lot of the swoon's I've seen are done in retro fabrics. I'm actually considering another one out of Amy Butler or Valorie Wells... and I'm thinking of making the blocks just a bit smaller too. I think maybe 12" blocks.

Would love to see what you end up doing!

You did such a nice job on both! They are both so pretty, but I think my fav is the Holiday Frost! Thanks for sharing!
