Default U.B.E. QAYG Orphan blocks/partial blocks finished

Thanks so much for inspiring me to finish it. I wanted to add a solid green border to it, but decided on this because it was also leftover from another project, so instead of cutting up a large chunk of solid green, I decided to use this fabric.

Yesterday U.B.E.s were discussed, (ugliest blanket ever) made out of leftover partial blocks or orphan blocks. Well, I had been compiling mine for quite some time, and decided to just add to them til I had something larger than 16", then trim them wonky, and make a QAYG out of them. I finished a little while ago.

Anyway, it's not particularly pretty, but it has character. You will see practice machine embroidery, (I added a loon to the middle spot of a big white empty spot), paper piecing and of course, orphan blocks. Some were given to me. I don't know if anyone will actually want this quilt, but I can certainly add it to my charity quilts that we give away every Christmas time. If not, it does have meaning to me.

You made a very nice quilt out of 'leftovers'. I like it a lot - great job! A lot of variety to look at.

You just gave me an idea. I think I will purposely make an extra block of every quilt of mine from now on and stitch them together as I accumulate them. It will be a fun memory of each of my quilts! And I think yours is very attractive!
