well its not a crib quilt as such, but the little boy I made this for turned 1 last month.. His Mum, my boyfriend's sister, wanted a quilt for his little boy for when he moved to his "big boy" quilt.

yesterday I managed to get the last of it quilted and have the binding on by machine.. I started slip stitching the other side of the binding last night and have one side done.. I hope to have it completed with the label on the back by the weekend.. Here is is!!

    Courthouse steps.

    Cheers
    Andrea

Me starting to hand bind it last night.

Very pretty! I didn't realize 1 year old was the "big boy" cutoff. No wonder everyone says kids grow up fast!

she is figuring by the end of this year he will be in his big boy bed.... I am really happy how it turned out. I loved playing with the reds, gold and browns. now my boyfriend wants a quilt in those same colours for his bed. the one shown in the picture above.

I have about another 40 inches or so left of hand binding and the little darling is done!! Actually I plan to put a quilt label on the back of it.

This is be a good quilt for the little fella as it will grow with him. He will have it for a long time and the colours will not be tiring or too young.

Thanks for all your kind words. :)

    Cheers

    thanks :)

I loved the way the girl styled it the night of the cut and colour, but since then I just cant' get myself to stay with the real straight hair . My hair is naturally straight as a whip and fine... I can't make it look good at all!!! I tried to keep it straight, but looks horrible!!! guess I"ll always be curling my hair to give it lift :( I see so many girls around here with gorgeous straight hair, but I just cant' get mine to look as nice. :( ho hum :(

aww I thought it looked great! and a little curl brings bounce and life into it! i can never get mine to fully straighten out either. the older i get the curlier it gets. when i was younger and had straight hair i used to wish for curly. now that i have it i'm pretty okay with it--most of the time. grass is always greener. but yours looks really cute! you look very fun with your hair like that. What does the manflesh say about it?

The quilt is gorgeous...I love the colors, he will be able to enjot this quilt for many years...Which batting did you use? What I like most is that it does look "puffy" not so thin..... Great job...I wish I could have some classes from you..... :D

I love using the Soft Landing batting.. I have great success with that one. It does have a puffy look, but not too puffy.. Its a very cozy quilt. I hope to put the label on it tonight. Hopefully the weekend the little boy will be wrapped up in it.
