No I used 1/2" strips I don't like the ones done with very thick strips....just too bulky looking

I agree with you...I cut mine down to 1/2" , too, and they work better and go farther.

Would this work with t-shirt material? start at the bottom of the shirt and cut in a long pattern around and around until you get to the armholes? Would the fabric work. Nice and soft I would think.

Not sure about t shirt fabric but maybe just give it a try ..

They have kits but finished rugs too so will give you an idea...
