Default Cross Stitch Quilt

From time to time, my wife gets a call from a friend who has come across a quilt top while going through their mother's house. Betty, my wife, will talk to them about what kind of backing they'd like and arrange to take the top to her quilter.

Usually, it is a patchwork quilt top. This time it was a cross stitch quilt top. It's the kind where the pattern was printed on the fabric. There was a short row of stitches that Betty completed and she did the binding. Here it is.

This is stunning. Just think of all the quilt tops hidden somewhere, what a surprise waiting for someone to find. Most of my extended family knows nothing what they are or what they are worth. I am glad you can finish them for your friends.

Very pretty. Delicate history that I don't have the patience for.

It's quite a lovely quilt. The quilting completes it beautifully. The owner is bound to be thrilled with it.
