Thanks for all the nice comments everyone! I wasn't sure if they would 'go' in my living room, but they are growing on me. I have a modern style leather couch and my living room is modern but cosy, wasn't sure if they would look a bit out of place, but am liking them more now.

I just measured the pillow's I had and made the blocks to the right size from patterns I found online. Then I made them into a sandwich with cheap fleece on the inside and recycled old shirts from my Dad as backing, and quilted them. The backs are just envelope style - two pieces of fabric hemmed and overlapping, then sewed onto the sandwich right sides together. I don't know how to sew zips yet, and this way was so easy!
