Default Cushy Picnic Quilt

Sewing this is how I spent my day yesterday. The top is a set of sampler packs that my dear LQS sold to me for $2 a set, and the bottom was part of a mystery box from a lady on the QB.

Cost me $6 and one afternoon. Not bad!

I wanted something soft and cushy.. something that just begs to be napped on in the sun. My coworkers and I like to sit outside in the sun at lunch, and I was sick of borrowing a camping chair. This would have been perfect to practice quilting on my DSM, but the fabric told me it just didn't want to be quilted!!

This was my first time using the birthing method, and gotta say, not a fan. I do like the stitches I used to close the final seam, but I found whole thing too bulky and exhausting. Next time I will just sew it normally and perhaps get over my fear of binding.

It turned out really nice & I like it a lot!! It does look so inviting, a person just wants to sit on it with you.
