D-I-L's graduation quilt.3 years late? My excuses are...
She gave me the t- shirts in (hiding head in shame) 2010. I finished the top within 2 months.
So here are my excuses:
I hung it, together with a completed pieced backing and completed binding strip, waiting until I bought a long arm.
Then I started designing baby quilt pattern, so I felt like I should do my "work" sewing first.
I'm still waiting for that long arm...
We moved across country.
I had therapy-surgery-more therapy for a work injury on my wrist. No sewing for now.
Then we moved into our RV temporarily waiting for a transfer. But I brought the quilt top with me in the rig, along with good intentions.
It's a queen size. Waaaay too big for my little domestic.
Uh oh-now the baby is coming. I can't do a baby quilt before I finish Mommy's quilt. (Can I?)
Guilt finally overcame procrastination. I need to have her send me some close ups of the quilting. Not bad for my little machine in my RV!
Then it had to fly with me and wouldn't fit in my suitcase, so I made a pillowcase for it. That was my first and what a fun project! The flange fabric was from the quilt, the tiger stripe is from the backing.
