D9P finished!
#1
I had posted this when the top was done, it's finally finished. I used a panel of Safari Cats prints for the outer squares of the 9 patch, and different animal prints & blenders for the rest. I used the matching stripe for the mitered border and luckily had enough leftover to help stretch the animal print I had for the back since I was a bit short. Originally I was going to use the green for the inner border and binding, but like the brown much better. I just quilted loops and swirls in the surrounding blocks. My battery died before I could get closeups of the quilting.
The panel squares were an odd size. I cut them to 5-1/2" otherwise I would have lost part of the design. I screwed up a couple of times cutting the other squares. Oops! Need to put a note up to remind me what size I should be cutting. ;)
It is a gift for my DIL's parents. They babysit for free and do so much for the kids. They've got all sorts of awesome safari knick knacks in their house. That was my inspiration for the design.
