This is the heart quilt that I started summer before last, but had to set aside in order to get ready to move. It's for my DIL's birthday. It is machine pieced and hand quilted.

I don't have as much time to sew as I thought I would. So I got started on this early in the year so I would not be frazzled trying to get it done at the last minute. What helped is the fact that my quilt guild has all day sewing sessions twice a month. I sew guilt free without distractions of dishes piling up or lunches needing to be served, etc.

I am so excited about this! We haven't seen each other in 5 years. They will be in Raleigh as will the rest of the family for Christmas this year. Her birthday is next week, but I am hand delivering this baby on the 22nd! I hope she likes it!

Beautiful. I think I have this pattern. Now I want to make it for someone I love. I'll add it to my list of "next" projects.
