Well Sam (7) and I are working on a mystery quilt together, but we each did our own color way. Here she is sewing away making 1/2 square triangles with thangles this afternoon. She enjoyed having her own work space (dug out older machine for her) and a trip to the LQS to pick her own fabric without moms input. I let her choose her own thread and she is doing her piecing with purple thread and loving it. I cannot wait to move through the steps together.

I did that with my gd a couple of years ago. She lost interest (she's 11 now) but I see a little spark every now and then. She will still come with me to LQS and pick out fabric. I'm hopeful that one day she will become interested again. Try not to push her too hard. She sure is cute sitting there so intent on her sewing.

How precious! I hope she keeps at it and doesn't lose interest.

I have not pushed her at all, she begs to use the sewing machine and make things. She has the crafty gene and loves to make things. She has been sewing for about 2 years now. Her favorite past time is to just sit and sew scraps together. I cleaned up the old sewing machine and told her she could name it and it is her machine now to use whenever she wants. She was so excited until she realized it didn't have all the bells/whistles like my new one but sat and learned how to use it.If she stays interested I will be getting a new machine next year. :)
