This is the second year my guild issued a challenge to make Day of the Dead art quilts. We are having our big reveal in a couple of weeks. I made two quilts this time. The first one has lots of embroidery done on my Janome. The embroidery designs are from Urban Threads. Some of the designs took several hours to stitch as the designs are dense. There were up to 16 thread changes and it was all fun to do. The second quilt is charms I cut from Alexander Henry fabric, I love his fabric lines. I love this challenge and have already bought fabric for next years challenge. I did the quilting myself with FMQ on my Janome with stippling and swirls, this was the challenge part for me as it was very tiring to arms and shoulders.

Oh, those are great! I've always wanted to do a quilt like one of yours, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
