Default decision made after listened to the great comments from this forum

Hi Ladies:

I posted a message here last week and asked about which color of sash I should use for the shirts (from my father) quilt. I was debating if I should use white or orange/yellow (see last two pictures).

I've decided to use white sash and made the sash same width as white trim in the block. This way, there won't be very obvious "blocks". all the blocks are blended together.

I also made a second quilt this weekend using same fabric from my father's shirts. It was 98F here. Very hot.

Both quilts are 36"x 48".

I plan to make white boarder for the one on left, maybe a different color for the one on the right. I need some time to think about it.

Thanks for all the help and comments.

Jenny

They are both so nice and what a nice memory quilt. I like your decision for the white sashing. It sure shows off the shirt fabrics. I especially like the star pattern in your quilt.

I love how you did these. A friend has asked me to do a quilt from her dad's shirts. I am waiting to see what she brings me. I love your idea of the simple squares and may use it, if you don't mind. I like the stars too. Great job on both quilts.

Love what you did with your father's shirts! These are all quilts that will be treasured. Now I am wishing I had my Dad's shirts.
