Oh my goodness, I'm making those State bird/flower blocks too! I have all but about 4 embroidered, and then I just set it aside. I need to pick them back up and finish.
When I was a kid my older sister had a quilt made by her godmother, and it was these blocks alternated with pink gingham check. It stayed on her bed. I always loved that quilt so much. Then I found that the transfers were still being made and sold! So I started one of my own. The hand embroidery is so relaxing.
