Congratulations on a well deserved win! That is a great quilt. I wish you could post more pictures of it with closeups of the different things. It sounds almost like you are describing trapunto in how you did the large cactus.

I live in the high desert of CA and you have really captured the feel and look ... lovely. The sky fabrics are dramatic and wonderful ...love it!
