This is for playing and sleeping/napping away from home. They have a dog (Sadie) and cat (Potter) and I added the rabbit and elephant. It is flannel and the inner "blanket" has a satin binding which is loose. The paws, ears and the dog's & elephant's noses are also loose and floppy - just enough to play with but not enough to choke on. It is based on a pattern in an old quilting magazine and was fun to make. It is backed with denim so it can go anywhere. (My 21yr old DD still uses hers to sit on outside!)

Both baby and mat look so cuddly! Satin is a nice touchy feely thing for Clara. I am counting the days til my gd arrives!

Awwwww... Clara will love it forever. I love the inner blanket with the satin border. I still remember my own statin edged blankie from many, many years ago.

Really cute! I can imagine Clara babbling to her quilting buddies in about 6 -9 months. Is there a pattern to that?
