My dh has gotten involved in my sewing..He has bought 4 older singers and has made them hum with the newest and the best of them.
Now he wants to sew and see what that adventure is like. Mind you, this is a man who did construction all his life.. I had no idea of what to expect. ... boy was i surprised that those big hands could do magic. !
I showed him once on all the processes of doing this simple scrappy and he took it from there.. He now has one simple border on and wants to know about the backing and quilting.. here are a couple of pics so far.. I will repost when he finishes.. This process makes me smile.... :)

He is still 'constructing,' just with fabric now!

Well, constructions guys know how to measure, so I'm sure this carried over to his quilts. Good job!

Darn, his first sewing and it's way past my own already. His corners match up well and he should do much more sewing now that he has it under control.

As in construction, he learned how to measure twice and cut once.
Now take him to the LQS and let him pick out some manly fabrics, and remind him how cold the coming winter is going to be. Quilts will be needed, lots of quilts, even in California.

That is wonderful. Aren't you glad he fixed all those machines, now you will not have to fight him for your chance to sew. LOL
