I would have never thought to use the gingham but I love it! It doesn't even matter that the design of it is thrown off in the construction. No matchy-matchy. Excellent choice for this quilt.

I'm glad you discovered it. I didn't see it right away but it would have jumped out at you each time you saw it. It's really a lovely quilt top.

it is not a mistake - it is the feature that makes it unique! (and I would not ever have found it had you not directed me too it!)

It took me a moment to spot it, also. Sometimes photos really do help us to "see" things better.

Glad you spotted it in time to change it.

A whole top with that "variation" would also be nice.

Like the black and black and white accents with those colored squares and white background.
bearisgray is exactly right - the variation would be nice in a whole top. I think that is why it took me a few minutes to "see" it - it looked so good!
