We call that a Chianese Gift Exchange where I come from (the politicially incorrect Maritimes of Canada!).

Cool. My Mom does her own version. She puts a little gifts in a small wooden sleigh around Thanksgiving. It's usually some little goofy gift that is wrapped in the same wrapping paper as the rest of that persons' gifts. Everybody trys to figure out whose gift is whose with the passing around and "stealing" of the little gifts until Mom gives in and tells us what is what.

The picture is turned sideways. The design in the middle is OU, which stands for the University of Oklahoma. Dirty Santa is a Christmas game where gifts are opened in order (numbers drawn or otherwise) and then are "stolen" by other players with following turns. We play where the gift can be stolen a few times before it is "frozen", thus an owner. It really is a lot of fun. It also helps that most of my family, except me, are graduates of OU.

We do the white elephant gifting with all the cousins, aunts, and uncles...We try to find the ugliest thing in our home that we want to get rid of...we have also passed around certain family treasures year after year. We always have such a fun time.
