Does anyone know anything about old sewing machines??

Have you checked on ebay? I learned a lot watching the auctions and reading the descriptions and then googling for more information. The machine you have pictured looks just like one on ebay last week. The price should be fairly reasonable. They are really cute.

There were hundreds of machine makers in the early days of sewing and this is not even close to being a Singer.
The machine in question is from around the 1850's to 1870's. What are they asking for it may I ask?
I would do nothing but clean it up and see if I could get it working. But trying to find a needle for it will be near to impossible so you might have to make them for it.
But a paw foot is always a nice machine to own!!
