I have got such a kick out of everyone's guesses on this. You ladies are a hoot! Thanks for the good laugh to start my day.

I have no idea what this is or what it is for, but I love the "wind chime" for your sewing machine. Regardless of what it truly is, that's what I'd use it for!

I think it's used in making bobbin lace. Not sure how, but saw a demo recently and they used all sorts of items that looks like this.
