From Don-isewman--After 10 months, its finally all hand quilted
A little story. This quilt was made from clothing that the mother made for her self and her daughter. The daughter Loretta gave me this quilt, beginning of Oct of last year. She sent me a little story about this quilt. and I'm passing a few notes on to the members here. ""Quote--Back about 1932-1934--the past time for girls was to do land work, and sewing. She told me she was around 10-11 years of age when she started cutting out this quilt. She used sand paper, to hold the material in place. This lady(Loretta)IS NOW 89 years old. And me roughly counting there was anywhere from 3,200-3,500 hex's. I worked on it every night, and, after 10 months, ITS DONE. A close up view of the GRGarden..A close up view of the hand quilting I did. I used a size 11 hand quilting needle..TAKE CARE EVERYONE, and welcome to the new members . Don-isewman

You deserve more than kudos for all the hand quilting on this quilt. The joy of having this quilt completed must make the owner estatic. Finishing an eighty-year-old UFO ..... WOW!! Her family should really treasure this one.
