Beautiful. As for making the backing fit I would add leftover fabrics to enlarge it.

What about extending your purchased fabric with some of the fabrics from the back?

I love star quilts and this one is quite unusual and beautiful with it's unique block setting. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for your kind words and tips for the backing. I already ordered backing fabric from a local quilt shop and am patiently waiting for it. Quilter's Club of America will be holding another mystery "Mystery Quilt #12 in a few weeks and Connecting Threads is starting one tomorrow. I signed up for both and will use the fabric for those. I do love these mysterys it keeps me motivated and they go for good charitable causes. A win win for us both.
