You are so right....SPAYING AND NEUTERING IS THE ANSWER and that is what I do every single day. I ask God to please allow me to spay, neuter and quilt until the day that I die!!

I just did one similar but out the blocks together on a diagonal (2 triangles together) - I like the option of yours. Wonderful colors.
