    Yes, it is lovely.

Ruth~ I would have never thought to applique something like that, wow wee, and here I was thinking maybe my next project should be one of these so it might have a chance at being done by the time someone/anyone was getting married. :-) That would make it much quicker wouldn't it!

Unfornatunately the other pictures we took did not turn out good. I didn't take many because I didn't know at the time that the quilt sold and I wouldn't get another chance at it. It was the first and only one I have made using a block type pattern. It was actually easier than any I have ever tried.I quilted about a quarter of an inch away from the ovals and went about 3/4 of an inch inside the square inside each other with the last one being about an inch. It gave the ring a raised look. On top of that I washed and dried it which shrunk the thread just a tad to give it an antique more raised up look. Thanks for the compliments.

Now I am really sick I didn't take more picture. I didn't really think that it would win anything. I have only been quilting about 4 years. I started out quilting some tops that my mother-in-law have pieced. She told me how to do it and I have just picked up a few pointers from different people. I'm more self taught than anything and I now have 3 to 4 other women who come to my house every week to quilt and gab and eat. We have a ball sharing patterns and info. We don't do much fancy stuff. Most of us are hung up right now doing the different drunkard path variations. I will post a few pictures shortly of some of them to share with yall.

Here are some of my other quilts that I have pictures of. The one is apicture of the back of this double wedding ring and is done from the traditional pattern. It is made out of valour from scraps from an old garment factory that used to be in our town. They made ladies gowns. These are some of the tops that I first learned to quilt on that my mother-in-law pieced before her eyes got bad.
