    Dr. Who Quilt finished

I made this quilt as a birthday gift for my sister, a big Dr. Who fan. I don't watch it, but have seen a few episodes and know the basics. So, the front is the Tardis. This was a pattern from Hunter's Design Studio. The quilt shop where I bought it had gone to the trouble of ordering the printed panels from spoonflower and included them with the pattern.

About the time I finished the top, the 13th doctor was announced. My sister was absolutely thrilled that it's a woman, so I knew I needed to include her in the quilt. The backing has a profile of all 12 doctors (I found the profiles on-line), with #13 at the top facing out. No profile was available so I created a monochrome image of her and used that.

Put it in the mail today, and by next week I might actually be able to post a picture somewhere public. But for now, you are the only people I can share with, since she's not a quilter and will never see this post.

Here's the link to Spoonflower. I didn't order it myself because my LQS included it with the pattern, but the pattern references this spoonflower link. See first post for pattern link, but it doesn't come with it by default. That was an add-on by my shop

Thanks for this post. Our 4 yr. old grandson LOVES Dr. Who. His mom and I made him the 10th Dr. brown pin striped suit for Halloween and he wore it about a dozen times (church & school) before he outgrew it. I ordered this pattern and the exterminator pattern from Hunter's Design Studio and the words from Spoonflower for a double sided Christmas gift maybe two years down the road, if he is still interested. Right now he is still using his Traveling Turtles quilt I spent hours and hours making for him so will give him another year or so with that LOL

I made this a few years ago for my husband, a big Dr Who fan. He uses it almost daily, stretched out in his lounge chair, watching tv, playing games on tablet, or reading....or sometimes all three at once!
