    Drunken gaggle of flying geese

Finally finished my UFO...first time making flying geese.....they look like they were drinking while flying , which is carried over in the quilting. These flying geese were made with a ruler template. I did make one other quilt with flying geese ( didn't know that's what I was making ) and I think they came out better. I now prefer making flying geese the old fashion way.

the back of the quilt was made with scraps left over...don't tell anyone, I ran out of backing and had to be creative. LOL
    thanks for looking.

I think you did a great job - they look pretty sober to me. Nice colors, too and I particularly like that you picked different fabrics for each side of the geese - brings a whole new light to the pattern.
A fabric stash is always missing that one fabric needed to finish the quilt on which you're working.

I like your colors ... and your flying geese! I wish I could do that many flying geese as well as you did. Your backing looks good too .... very creative! Congratulations on the completion of one more UFO.

Great quilt. I love purples and greens together (and separately - two of my favorite colors) I like how you made each side of the geese a different color. Makes for a very interesting look. You did a great job piecing and the back looks super to me. Anyone can use a solid piece of backing fabric. Your's is very creative.

    Red face

Interesting that I found this particular subject tonight - I've been working on lines of flying geese today and I guarantee you - they've been drinking!! This is the first time I've ever made a quilt with FG and they're driving me nuts!!

Love your color selections!! Great job!

I believe those drunks have sobered up some since you posted because I find nothing out of the ordinary about them. Other than this is a wonderful looking quilt. The layout of the colors is spot-on and very well coordinated, the interaction of the different fabrics for the geese is different and certainly go together nicely, and as far as the backing goes, you ran out of one fabric? I honestly thought you planned it that way. It really really looks great!

Wow! That is what you call a "gaggle" of geese. Love your colors and the placement of the colors, makes for a much more interesting quilt.

I really like this. The colors are great together and very interesting method of extending a background. I'm always looking for interestin way to expand my backing so will keep this in mind next time that happens. Thanks for sharing.
