Default On Eagle's Wings Wallhanging

Last summer when my mother moved into a senior apartment complex, we noticed that many of the residents had decorated their doors. She is 90 years old and when she downsized, she said she thought she was done with hand quilting. However, she did keep a lap hoop "just in case."

One of Mom's favorite Christian songs is "On Eagle's Wings", so my sisters and I located the panel with words on it from "Block Party Studios", and we found a pillow panel depicting an eagle in flight. I pieced the wallhanging, and Mom decided she wanted to do the hand quilting! She finished the binding yesterday and hung it today.

Good thing your mom kept that lap hoop for just in case. Her door will be the envy of the floor.

What a wonderful story. As the movie says, "Never say never". The wall hanging looks great.

Lucky you. It came out really nice and 3 family members were involved so that is really nice.

Looks great on her door! Make sure her name is on the back in case someone else thinks it will look great on their door.

Tartan, thanks for mentioning the need for a label. So far theft has not been a problem at that facility, but it is always good to have a label. We will get that done.

Beautiful work and a wonderful story. I agree about the label too. I love looking at all the door decorations at my Mom's seniors' residence.

You are so blessed to have your mother still around. She did a lovely job, and you girls are very attentive daughters.
