I even got my calendar down - it has pictures of him and his cousin taken all last year. We turned pages and talked about what happens each month and how many pages we had to turn until December. Sang a song about the months of the year. THought we had it all covered until his dad came over to get him after work and was told it's Christmas! Sigh.
Haha! Poor kid, you've messed him all up. ;) It reminds me of this past December, my boss had her 50th birthday so I invited her and my coworker over for a nice birthday dinner. Coworker brought his family, including his 4-year-old daughter. This was about a week before Christmas, so we had our tree up and my boyfriend and I already had our gifts for each other wrapped and under the tree. V, the little girl, was SO EXCITED. She knew it was a birthday party, but somehow the sight of the tree made her think we were ALL getting presents. She looked so disappointed when I explained that no, sometimes grownups don't do birthday presents, and the dinner was the present. The look on her face made me feel like I'd just killed Santa Claus.

You're doing great! That's about my level, too and I love the look. Those ways really make the pattern and fabrics stand out!

That's kind of how I do it too - in the ditch and close to the ditch and back in the ditch - gotta keep practicing.
Here we are-trying to stay in the ditch! instead of OUT of the ditch and on the road. HEHEHE.

It is a wonderful holiday quilt. Hope you didn't mention "christmas in july" to the little man!
