Cool Elephant Baby Quilt for my grand son.

I made this elephant quilt with mostly scraps and fabric I received for free from another quilter. DD really likes it as does my 3 month old grandson.

The tails are thread painted, the ears are 3 dimensional and can be flipped over, the elephants where appliqued using the interfacing turning method, the eyes where appliqued using freezer paper and all of it was stitched down by machine. I then quilted leaves on a vine around the elephants and a trailing vine with leaves in the borders and sashing. It is about 50x60 so a bit large for a baby but this way he can use it on a toddler bed or as a lap quilt later on. For now he sleeps and plays on it.

I love it! Having the elephants in different colors really makes it perfect for a baby. Thanks so much for explaining your process - it seems like something I could attempt too.
