Default Embroidered quilt - Flower Basket

I started embroidering the blocks for this quilt in 2009. My granddaughter helped me draw the designs on the fabric. I finished the embroidery last summer. I had to clean my sewing studio up to find the layout design. I finished it in March of this year. Finally. I always try to take note of what I learn with each quilt. With this one, I learned that working up close you can see the embroidery threads well. Once it is all done and hanging on the wall across the room, the threads tend to blend in with the background. Before quilting, I used Crayola crayons and colored in the flowers and some of the baskets that didn't show so well. It is a beautiful quilt.

It's beautiful. You're very creative. I bet it feels nice to have it finished.

I think it's so sweet that this has drawings your grand daughter helped you with as the patterns. Very pretty.
