Default Embroidered Scrappy Tumbler in progress

I have an old hand-sewn tumbler quilt I bought years and years and years ago that is falling to bits. It's made of old shirts and scraps of used clothing -- obviously a (very precious) utility quilt. To honour the anonymous quilter who made it, I decided to replace it with my own scrappy tumbler quilt using fabrics I've had for a while that mean something to me. I was listening to "Autumn Leaves" at the time, so the theme was an easy choice: fall colours.

I wasn't as pleased as I thought I'd be, so I decided to add some embroidery (not my forte!). I'm putting a leaf on each piece.

The quilt is about 1/3 embroidered, so far. The embroidery and piecing are by hand, and quilting will also be by hand.

Thanks for taking a look.

I love your tumbler quilt! Love the fall colors - my favorite colors! Your embroidery on it is very nice, too.

I LOVE that! I have been collecting leaf colors and have considered a tumbler quilt for them. Your embroidery is a really nice touch!

Your tumbler is amazing. Autumn/Fall are my favorite color choices too. Your embroidery makes this quilt even more special.

I was thinking about doing something like your embroidery on a quilt. Now that I see how great your outcome is, I think maybe I have the courage to try it.
