A friend of mine gave me a couple of sack of quilting blocks and fabric that she had picked up at an estate sale a few years back. She had thought at the time that she would do something with them, but never got around to it. I finally got into them about two weeks ago and sorted through them. There were about 40+ blocks already made and ready to put together. My first thought was, "I hate this pink! Why would she use pink!" However, the more I looked and arranged and re-arranged, the more I began to see the possibilities, so I sewed them together into a top. Then I looked farther down in the sack, and found some blue that would look OK as a border, and more of the pink. I don't know how old this fabric is, but the pink yardage was only 36" across and I haven't seen that in quite awhile. Anyway, here is the top. It is on my frame now and being quilted with loops and butterflies! I'm beginning to like it just a bit...

    Here's the top

Nice! Somewhere a deceased quilter is resting a bit more peacefully, with a UFO being finished by you.

That has vintage written all over it. What a wonderful save as you turn it into a usable quilt. Good job:)

I'm glad your able to finish it. I love all the old bright fabrics. I would have thought the same thing with the pink...glad you did it anyways....I like it. Sometimes, you just never know until the quilt is together. Can't wait to see it quilted.

That is beautiful! This looks like a vitage quilt. Nice job putting those blocks together.

Glad you finished that quilt......so vintage! The original quilter, I am sure, is smiling down on you for finishing her work.

I think that's called "Bubble Gum Pink" and makes the quilt truly vintage.
