    Default Exploding Block Baby Quilt

Someone last week posted the link to Jenny Doan's Exploding Block tutorial. Along in the posting someone mentioned they wondered how a baby quilt would look using this method. So I tried it! I needed to make a baby girl quilt, had lots of pinks in my stash and was looking for something fun and quick. I started with a pinwheel block center and added on (Exploded it) from there. I added 5 rounds to the pinwheel and it measured 32" square before I added two sashings. Now it's 42" square and ready to sandwich and quilt! This was a really fun and easy top to make! If you're going to try it be sure to square off after each addition of fabric and I think 5 rounds was enough so quilt was still manageable. Here's my pic:

That came out really well. Leave it to Jenny. Love your version. The Mom and Baby should be thrilled.

Very nicely done. It will be a treasure to some little girl. Gives me a plan for both girl & boy baby quilts. Or even a lap quilt.
